Michigan's public universities offer a unique capstone program where students collaborate with faculty on impactful research projects. You'll engage in practical research alongside distinguished experts, culminating in a research poster presentation, thesis writing, and potential opportunities to showcase your findings.

For environmental chemistry students, the laboratory extends beyond traditional settings - your fieldwork will involve studying human environmental impacts across various ecosystems. You'll examine air, water, and soil samples from Michigan's freshwater systems while discovering chemistry's role in environmental restoration.

Chemistry majors start with foundational science and math courses shared across our ACS-accredited program. From there, your academic path is shaped by your specific interests and career aspirations.
