This program teaches you how to prevent, recognize, and address communication disorders while supporting individuals comprehensively. Communication challenges rarely exist alone, often connecting to other issues. They can lead to or worsen social, emotional, academic, and career-related struggles.

Becoming a speech-language pathologist or audiologist demands meeting state-specific professional standards, which include earning a master's or doctoral degree. CMU's undergraduate program in communication disorders is designed to smoothly transition students into graduate-level education.

A minor in communication sciences and disorders opens doors to various career paths, primarily in healthcare and education sectors, or serves as a foundation for further academic pursuits.
