This course aims to develop scientific literacy with a focus on physics as a foundation for effective innovation, establishing new technology businesses, and practical problem-solving. Students will explore technology trend analysis, current solution constraints for various needs, and applying scientific principles to drive innovation - covering opportunity recognition, evaluating alternative approaches, and thorough assessment processes. Real-world examples will demonstrate both thriving and failed physics-driven business initiatives, highlighting key success factors. Required background includes a bachelor's degree in physics, physical chemistry, mathematics, or engineering with significant coursework in math and physics. To accommodate diverse schedules, classes are conducted weekly during evening hours.
