The medical and health law fields will encounter significant challenges in the decades ahead. The Law-Medicine Center stands ready to equip its students with the tools to tackle these complex issues. As the nation's first health law program, established in 1953, the center essentially pioneered the health law discipline. Students benefit from comprehensive course offerings, hands-on learning experiences, multiple graduate programs, distinguished faculty, student organizations, practical training, career support services, and other valuable resources.
Our health law program provides diverse educational opportunities, including specialized courses, seminars, and clinical experiences covering all aspects of health law - from corporate legal practice to bioethical considerations, from medical liability litigation to healthcare provider regulations. Unlike many programs, students can begin exploring health law during their first year through our introductory elective course, rather than waiting until their upper-level years.
