This program enables School of Law students to obtain an MS in Biochemistry by adding just one extra year of study. It's particularly valuable for those pursuing intellectual property law careers in biotech or pharmaceuticals. Through their JD curriculum, students gain expertise in intellectual property law, while their Biochemistry coursework keeps them current on biomedical advancements - preparing them to effectively collaborate with scientific clients. The dual degree reduces law school requirements by 12 credit hours compared to the standalone JD program. Additionally, the Biochemistry Department recognizes 9 credits of science-related law courses in lieu of general electives. Participants complete 27 Biochemistry credits, with a minimum of 12 requiring letter grades.
