The Paralegal Program was created in collaboration with the San Mateo County Bar Association and the San Mateo County Legal Professionals Association (formerly the San Mateo County Legal Secretaries Association) to educate individuals in supporting lawyers across civil and criminal cases. The Litigation Certificate caters to students aiming to focus on litigation, advance their legal studies, prepare for law school, or help international attorneys qualify for an LLM program required for the California Bar Exam. This distinctive certificate program enhances our students' competitiveness and equips them with relevant skills for today's legal field demands.

Qualification Requirements

Have the equivalent of an American high school education with satisfactory grades (C or 2.0 grade point average). A copy of the high school transcript is required.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): A minimum qualifying score on the iBT TOEFL is 56 (iBT is Internet-based TOEFL). A minimum qualifying score on the paper TOEFL is 480, with no sectional scores below 48.
