The Interior Design Department provides educational programs for those pursuing careers in interior design. Students can choose from a transfer program, an Associate of Science degree, and three specialized Certificates of Achievement: Interior Design, Kitchen and Bath, and Home Staging. The Interior Design Certificate fulfills the educational prerequisites for taking the IDEX (Interior Design Examination) to obtain Certified Interior Designer (CID) status in California after graduation, as well as qualifying for ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) allied membership. Students holding a bachelor's degree should consult with a counselor about potential course substitutions for core requirements from their previous college studies. Additionally, they may qualify for a general education waiver when pursuing the AS degree in Interior Design after completing the certificate program's required units.
