The Social Sciences major is an interdisciplinary program designed to give students comprehensive knowledge and insight into various social science fields. Through this major, which covers multiple disciplines, students gain exposure to diverse approaches, research methods, and the interconnected nature of social sciences.
Students select one Primary Field and two Secondary Fields within this major.
The Primary Field options include ten disciplines: anthropology, border studies, communication, geography, history, linguistics, political science, psychology, sociology, and women's, gender, and sexuality studies.
Secondary Fields can be selected from: anthropology, border studies, communication, geography, history, linguistics, political science, psychology, sociology, women's, gender, and sexuality studies, or an Individualized Secondary Field. Those considering the Social Sciences major should consult with the Program Director to align their academic path with their educational and professional goals.
