The Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MSEI) program equips students from business, technical, or non-business backgrounds with the essential skills to start their own ventures or drive innovation within established companies.
This 16-24 month, 30-credit program caters to both business and non-business majors, blending in-person classes with hybrid learning when suitable. Students engage in hands-on learning and coursework covering core entrepreneurial principles like idea generation, business concept assessment, developing business models, startup methodologies, building teams, resource acquisition, strategic planning, and launch approaches.
The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) reports growing student preference for specialized graduate degrees over conventional MBAs. Unlike generalist MBA programs that emphasize broad knowledge, specialized master's degrees enable concentrated study in specific fields—a trend gaining momentum across U.S. business schools. The MSEI program capitalizes on this shift by delivering an intensive entrepreneurship curriculum. Research from the Kauffman Foundation shows increasing entrepreneurial activity in the U.S., with Inc. magazine reporting 27 million entrepreneurs—representing nearly 20% of the working population.
