This program helps students get ready for the Society of Actuaries' preliminary exams. Passing these exams is typically required for internships and starting roles in actuarial science. For details, reach out to the Mathematics Department.
Both regular and extended learning students can earn certificates by completing a structured curriculum aimed at:
developing specific professional or career skills, or
achieving expertise in a specialized area of study, or
exploring topics within traditional or new interdisciplinary fields.
Some certificate programs include 600-level courses, which undergraduates cannot take. Students must complete at least two-thirds of their certificate credits at the university. Credit transfers or course substitutions require approval from campus officials.
