Certificates can be obtained by both regularly enrolled and extended learning students, recognizing the successful fulfillment of a structured curriculum aimed to:
develop specific professional, vocational, or career skills, or
achieve comprehensive understanding of a specialized area within an academic discipline, or
offer an overview of topics in either traditional or emerging interdisciplinary subjects.
Some certificate programs include 600-level courses as mandatory or optional components. Undergraduate students are ineligible to enroll in these advanced courses. Participants must complete at least two-thirds of their certificate-eligible coursework at the university. Credit transfers or course substitutions require approval from the relevant campus administration.
