Certificates can be obtained by both regularly enrolled and extended learning students, signifying the successful fulfillment of a structured curriculum aimed at:
developing specific professional, vocational, or career skills, or
achieving proficiency in a specialized area within an academic major, or
offering an overview of materials in a conventional or emerging interdisciplinary subject.
Some certificate programs include 600-level courses as mandatory or optional components, which are not available to undergraduate students. Participants must complete at least two-thirds of the credits required for the certificate at the university. Transferring credits or substituting courses is permitted only with approval from the relevant campus authority.
