The Construction Management program at Sacramento State University equips students for leadership roles with contractors and other construction industry organizations. Graduates gain the knowledge that, when paired with hands-on experience, can establish them as professional Constructors. These construction experts oversee project implementation, transforming architectural and engineering designs into finished structures. While design professionals specify what gets built, Constructors focus on execution methods. They devise construction strategies, efficiently allocate resources, and ensure projects meet deadlines, safety standards, quality requirements, and budget constraints.
This program's primary goal is to deliver college-level training for construction leadership roles while fostering lifelong learning capabilities. The coursework concentrates on key Constructor competencies: engineering principles, construction project management, business operations, liberal arts, and the cultivation of critical thinking and communication abilities.
