The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture prepares students for professional careers as interior designers and architects. This program equips learners with the expertise to thoughtfully craft interior spaces while meeting industry standards. Alongside CSU's General Education requirements, the curriculum blends professional training with a well-rounded liberal arts foundation. As one of five degree options in the Design Department, it shares foundational courses with the Architecture Studies program.

This comprehensive program explores the multifaceted nature of interior environment design. Students gain architectural and interior design perspectives while developing the critical skills, knowledge, and awareness needed for professional practice. The curriculum covers architectural history and theory, studio work, construction techniques, building systems, furnishings research, visual communication, and business practices. It promotes an interdisciplinary design approach with special consideration for environmental, social, and cultural impacts.

Design studios form the core of the educational experience, where students tackle real-world projects through hands-on learning to prepare for post-graduation challenges. The studio environment encourages collaboration over competition, fostering supportive peer learning. Industry connections are strengthened through guest speakers, professional critiques, site visits, and tours of exemplary projects. Service-learning components further enrich the educational experience.
