If a student's academic requirements aren't fully addressed by standard Bachelor's degrees, Minors, Certificates, or Non-Certificate Programs, they may apply for a Special Major or Minor. This customized program can serve as either a primary academic path or as a secondary major/minor. When pursued as a secondary option, students should design a curriculum that enhances their primary major. These interdisciplinary programs must include a minimum of six units from at least two different academic departments. Final approval from all relevant parties is mandatory before the special major can be officially recognized.

Qualification Requirements
An applicant who has not completed any post-secondary education after high school is considered a first-time freshman applicant. If there is a gap between the time you graduated high school and when you are applying to the University, but have not attempted or completed any college or university coursework, you are still considered a first-time freshman. Please note that an evaluation from an agency is not required or recommended as we do in-house evaluations of all foreign credentials.
