The Department of Humanities and Religious Studies provides a comprehensive exploration of global cultures across history. Our curriculum encourages students to examine fundamental concepts, principles, and ethics through interdisciplinary lenses. The Humanities - referred to as studia humanitatis ('humanistic studies') during the Renaissance - cover diverse fields including literature, history, philosophy, religion, visual arts, music, theater, and cinema. Religious Studies examines the faith systems and rituals of various world religions within their historical and cultural frameworks. Using methodologies from history, anthropology, sociology, psychology, and philosophy, this field approaches religious phenomena with understanding while maintaining neutrality regarding theological assertions.
