The Bachelor of Arts in Fine and Creative Arts (Art Education) equips students to become innovative, adaptable, and community-oriented artist-educators. Through diverse studio practices and comprehensive teaching methods, students gain the essential expertise to excel as educators in schools, museums, and community settings. The program's curriculum encompasses artistic perception, art history and cultural contexts, interdisciplinary art applications, critical art education theories, and visual culture studies.
This California state-approved program fulfills the subject matter competency requirements set by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing. Successful graduates meet the Art competency standards without needing to take the CSET Art exams and complete the necessary coursework for admission into the Single-Subject Teaching Credential Program at the College of Education.
