Ethnic Studies is a multidisciplinary field exploring the languages, cultures, histories, and current affairs of African Americans, Asian Americans, Chicana/os-Latina/os, and Native Americans. This program guides students in critically assessing these communities' global and national cultural impacts. It prompts learners to question prevailing assumptions and frameworks about racial and ethnic identities, fostering the creation of more accurate understandings of diverse populations and their lived experiences. The curriculum motivates students to combat discriminatory practices through active engagement.

The program supports combining Ethnic Studies with specialized fields. For instance, one might pursue an Ethnic Studies major alongside a Business Administration minor. Likewise, Engineering Technology graduates can complement their degree with an Ethnic Studies minor, gaining valuable skills for leadership roles in diverse workplaces. Graduates with Ethnic Studies credentials find opportunities across various industries in both government and corporate settings.
