Deaf Studies employs a multidisciplinary perspective to examine Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals within American and global contexts. This academic discipline fosters appreciation of the Deaf community as both a linguistic and cultural entity, while challenging students to critically evaluate prevailing stereotypes and policies. Through this framework, students develop skills to advocate for positive change within their own communities and beyond, ultimately working toward improving conditions for Deaf and hard-of-hearing populations.

Qualification Requirements
An applicant who has not completed any post-secondary education after high school is considered a first-time freshman applicant. If there is a gap between the time you graduated high school and when you are applying to the University, but have not attempted or completed any college or university coursework, you are still considered a first-time freshman. Please note that an evaluation from an agency is not required or recommended as we do in-house evaluations of all foreign credentials.
