The Master of Science degree offers two specialization tracks: Geology and Geophysics. These programs aim to: (1) equip graduates with professional skills needed for careers in geological industries and government organizations, (2) prepare high-achieving students with the academic foundation and research capabilities required for doctoral studies, and (3) deliver comprehensive knowledge, hands-on lab instruction, and core research competencies for those aspiring to teach geology at community colleges. Candidates with robust mathematics and physics backgrounds pursuing geophysics-related research and careers should select the Geophysics track, while others may opt for the Geology specialization.

Qualification Requirements
B.S. degree in Geology, Geophysics, or its equivalent. Students who do not have the appropriate coursework may be conditionally admitted to the program, but will be required to complete any deficient coursework without graduate credit during the first year of residence.
