The Bachelor of Science in Physics program caters to students aiming to (1) establish a career in physics-focused research and development within industrial or governmental sectors, or (2) prepare for advanced studies in physics or allied disciplines. The Physics B.S. program offers two specialized tracks: Option I (Physics) and Option II (Astrophysics). Option II concentrates on applying physics principles to astrophysical challenges, with flexibility to emphasize either experimental or theoretical approaches.
The Physics and Astronomy Department actively engages students in research endeavors. Numerous undergraduates and graduates from our program gain admission to Ph.D. programs at top-tier research universities. Our department emphasizes three primary physics research areas: Astrophysics, Biophysics, and Condensed Matter Physics.
