The Geographic Information Science curriculum emphasizes a robust technical foundation in geographic information science (GISci), cartography, and remote sensing applications, complemented by instruction in geospatial analysis and data visualization. Enrolled students will investigate how GISci is utilized across diverse sectors such as healthcare, public safety, environmental sciences, retail, urban development, government, and transportation. Those pursuing a Geographic Information Science degree with an interest in teaching social studies in middle or high schools can integrate their major with the Single Subject Social Science Subject Matter Program to fulfill prerequisites for admission into a Single Subject Credential Program.
