The Spanish major offers four specialization tracks: I. Literature, II. Language and Culture, III. Hispanic Linguistics, and IV. Translation and Interpretation. This program caters to students aiming for careers in secondary or higher education teaching, or other professions requiring advanced Spanish proficiency. Students are encouraged to consult with Spanish faculty advisors to determine the most suitable track for their career objectives.
The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures aims to equip students with skills to thrive in both local and global settings. Through diverse courses in foreign languages, literatures, and cultures, the department serves: language majors/minors, liberal arts students pursuing various professions, career-oriented individuals needing cultural/language skills, and those seeking deeper understanding of their heritage within our multicultural society.
