The Spanish major offers four specialization tracks: I. Literature, II. Language and Culture, III. Hispanic Linguistics, and IV. Translation and Interpretation. This program caters to students aiming for careers in secondary or higher education teaching, or other professions requiring advanced Spanish proficiency. Students are encouraged to consult with Spanish faculty advisors to determine the most suitable track for their objectives.
The Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures aims to equip individuals with skills to operate successfully both locally and globally. Accordingly, the department provides diverse courses and programs in foreign languages, literatures, and cultures. These offerings serve students pursuing language majors/minors, those seeking a liberal arts foundation for various professions, individuals needing language and cultural knowledge for career advancement, and students wishing to explore their heritage language and culture within our multicultural society's broader framework.
