The Bachelor of Arts in Sociology offers a comprehensive liberal arts education, equipping students with critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to apply sociological theories to practical situations. Students learn to gather, examine, and interpret data, conduct research projects, and appreciate diversity-related matters. This knowledge base opens doors to numerous career paths including social services, data analysis, nonprofit leadership, education, labor relations, policy development, HR management, market research, and community activism. The program also serves as excellent preparation for advanced studies in sociology or similar disciplines. Students may optionally specialize in one of three focus areas: Social Welfare and Justice, Inequality and Diversity Studies, or Social Movements and Political Sociology.
