The English undergraduate program (offering five specializations: Literature, Creative Writing, Subject Matter, FYI and JYI, and Honors) caters to students wishing to focus on a particular area within English studies. When declaring their English major, students must select one specialization. The Creative Writing specialization allows students to hone their skills in fiction, poetry, or drama while gaining comprehensive knowledge of British and American literary traditions.

You will be considered for admission to CSUN as an international freshman if you meet the following requirements:
You have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale or an average of B grades on an A - F letter grading scale. (CSUN will convert your international GPA when you apply for admission.)

IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL Internet Based score - 61, TOEFL Paper-based score - 500
