The Art and Design Department provides an academic program tailored for students seeking a well-rounded arts education within a liberal arts framework. Aspiring artists enjoy abundant avenues to showcase their creativity and secure career opportunities post-graduation. Learners can investigate various artistic disciplines before selecting the specialization that aligns with their passions and abilities.
The Bachelor of Arts curriculum caters to students pursuing: (1) a liberal arts education with an art focus, (2) concentrated art studies, (3) groundwork for advanced art degrees, (4) preparation for academic and professional careers, and/or (5) credentials for art instruction.
All Art majors must complete the foundational lower and upper division coursework. Students then choose elective units from one or more departmental concentrations to fulfill their B.A. requirements in their selected field. The program also includes experiences beyond specialization areas, helping students refine professional competencies and enhance their employment prospects.
