The School of Kinesiology and Nutritional Science provides this undergraduate certificate program in Community Nutrition to equip Nutritional Science students with the skills needed for careers as Community Nutrition professionals. In the U.S., poor dietary habits contribute to six of the top ten mortality causes, all of which stem from lifestyle factors and are preventable. This program emphasizes developing effective nutrition strategies for at-risk communities, including assessment, program design, intervention implementation, and outcome evaluation at nonprofit organizations across Los Angeles. Proper nutrition initiatives can enhance wellbeing while reducing healthcare costs associated with diet-related illnesses and conditions.
