Criminalistics is a multidisciplinary area that applies physical and natural sciences to examine and assess evidence for legal purposes. The Criminalistics curriculum delivers specialized, advanced education for aspiring professionals in this domain. The Master of Science program focuses on modern scientific and analytical techniques. Students gain comprehensive insights into forensic science principles through a structured series of mandatory and impactful courses. Beyond standard university graduate admission criteria, candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in natural or physical sciences. Admission to the M.S. program may be granted as either Classified or Conditionally Classified Standing. Classified Standing requires a minimum 3.0 GPA in the last 60 semester units and in the undergraduate major. Conditionally Classified Standing is available for applicants with GPAs between 2.75 and 3.0 in their final 60 semester units.
