To earn this degree, students must complete 30 semester units, consisting of 17 units of core courses and 13 units of electives, with a minimum of 15 units at the 5000-level in music. Applied Music placement requires an audition. The program culminates with either a thesis or project. Graduate students taking individual studio lessons must simultaneously enroll in an approved ensemble during each term of studio instruction. Full-time enrollment is mandatory for those receiving studio lessons. Master of Arts candidates must achieve and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in all music courses. Degree Requirements (30 units)

Hold a Bachelor's degree, and wish to continue your graduate/post-baccalaureate studies in a graduate, certificate, credential or 2nd bachelor's program at Cal State LA.
