The Spanish undergraduate program offers both a Bachelor of Arts major and a minor option for students pursuing other disciplines. To earn a BA in Spanish, students must complete 120 total units, with 48 units dedicated to the major. Students should meet with an advisor to determine the exact unit requirements across all degree components, including general education and elective courses. Before starting the Spanish BA program, applicants must either finish two years of college-level Spanish or prove equivalent proficiency through departmental assessment. The curriculum consists of a 27-unit Common Core (3 lower division and 24 upper division units) plus 21 units of elective courses.

Qualification Requirements

Your secondary education must be in an academic track, intended for college/university preparation and be deemed similar in preparation to what is required of U.S. high school graduates. Have a minimum 3.00 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) in academic courses of the last 3 years of high school/secondary education. You must graduate from high school/complete your secondary education by the end of the Spring term prior to Fall enrollment. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - 61 ibT or higher, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Band 5.5 or higher.
