The Chinese studies program offers both a Bachelor of Arts major and minor option. It focuses on developing practical communication abilities in Chinese while providing comprehensive exploration of the language's linguistic features, literary works, and cultural aspects. By mastering listening, speaking, reading, and writing competencies, students gain firsthand engagement with Chinese communities. This enables meaningful connections with populations in mainland China, Taiwan, and overseas Chinese diaspora. Examining Chinese language structures, literary traditions, and cultural practices expands students' perspectives, cultivates respect for diverse expressions, and equips them to participate effectively as internationally-minded individuals in our modern global society.
