The Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology provides a liberal arts foundation for students pursuing undergraduate studies or preparing for graduate-level research. To earn this degree, students must complete 120 total units, with 51-53 units dedicated to the anthropology major. Students should meet with an advisor to determine exact unit requirements across general education and elective courses. The Anthropology Department features an honors program open to students who have taken at least 12 upper-division anthropology units, maintain a 3.25 GPA in anthropology courses, and hold a 3.0 overall GPA.
