Gerontology focuses on the scientific examination of aging processes and related phenomena. The Gerontology Program aims to enhance quality of life for middle-aged and older adults through education, advisory services, and research initiatives. This program benefits from collaborations with the Gerontology Faculty Interest Group, the Center for Successful Aging, a DreamCatchers affiliate, and a Sigma Phi Omega chapter - a national honor society welcoming students from all fields who share an interest in aging studies. Recognized as Programs of Merit by the Academy of Gerontology in Higher Education, both the Gerontology Certificate and Minor Programs equip students with comprehensive knowledge of gerontological theories, advanced program administration skills, and strengthened undergraduate preparation for their chosen careers.
