Geography examines how human and natural landscapes are spatially arranged, the relationships between societies and their environments, and how people perceive their surroundings. This discipline bridges the gap between social and natural sciences, employing diverse theories and methods to interpret our world.
Our university boasts the most extensive geography programs in the California State University (CSU) network, with 17 out of 23 campuses providing Geography or GIS degrees. We educate over 15% of all geography and GIS students across the CSU system, significantly outpacing other major geography programs in the institution.
