The degree includes two focus areas: theory/composition and performance. This graduate program aims to develop musicians who: possess expert understanding of music history, literature, and theory; demonstrate advanced, reflective musical practice at a pre-professional level through performance, composition, and analysis; enter their profession with exceptional expertise; communicate effectively through research and presentations; exhibit leadership in collaborative settings; pursue innovative artistic expression; and integrate global perspectives with contemporary practices in performance, composition, and career growth.
