The Master of Arts in Art program blends academic learning with hands-on experience, ideal for aspiring visual artists or those planning advanced studies. Students can specialize in various disciplines: art history, ceramics, crafts (such as jewelry/metalsmithing and woodworking), creative photography, drawing and painting (including printmaking), exhibition design, glasswork, graphic design, illustration, and sculpture. The Department of Art, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design since 1974, provides comprehensive programs covering: scholarly pursuits like art history, theory, and criticism; studio practices including ceramics, game art, animation, creative photography, drawing, painting, exhibition design, glasswork, graphic design, illustration, jewelry/metalsmithing, and sculpture; as well as art education for teaching credentials.
