The Master of Arts in Art program blends academic learning with hands-on experience, ideal for those pursuing careers in visual arts or advanced graduate studies. Students can specialize in various disciplines: art history, ceramics, crafts (such as jewelry/metalsmithing and woodworking), creative photography, drawing and painting (including printmaking), exhibition design, glasswork, graphic design, illustration, and sculpture. The Department of Art, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design since 1974, provides comprehensive programs covering scholarly areas like art history, theory, analysis, and criticism, alongside studio practices in ceramics, game art, animation, immersive media, creative photography, experimental media, drawing and painting (including printmaking), entertainment arts and animation, exhibition design, glasswork, graphic and interactive design, illustration, jewelry and metals, sculpture, and art education/teaching for single-subject credentialing.
