The Bachelor of Arts in Music equips students for professional paths in music performance, teaching, or advanced academic pursuits. This program focuses primarily on musical performance (vocal or instrumental) while providing a solid foundation in music theory and history. Students can choose from three specialization tracks: history and theory, liberal arts, or music education (with sub-specializations in choral, general, and instrumental instruction). Graduates of this program will: exhibit understanding of musical history, literature, and theory; demonstrate proficiency in performance, improvisation, composition, and analysis; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; collaborate successfully in musical productions; and apply international perspectives and contemporary approaches to their musical practice.

California State University, Fullerton's string program provides diverse learning experiences for undergraduate and graduate string musicians. Participants gain focused yet well-rounded training through involvement in chamber groups and the University Orchestra. The program offers state-supported private lessons and multiple scholarship opportunities. Alumni have established careers in both educational institutions and professional music organizations.
