Civil engineering encompasses the investigation, advancement, planning, design, building, and upkeep related to urban growth, water systems, structures, energy production and distribution, water purification and waste management, and transit networks. Civil engineers focus on the operation and security of public infrastructure like buildings, bridges, dams, pipelines, power plants, roads, and ports, and they work to safeguard the public from natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, landslides, and fires.
The master's degree program for an M.S. in Civil Engineering offers focused education in areas including structural engineering and applied mechanics, soil mechanics and foundation engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering, highway engineering, and geomatics engineering.
Have graduated from high school (earning a high school diploma), have earned a Certificate of General Education Development (GED) or have passed the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE)
English language Score: TOEFL – 61 iBT, or IELTS – 6.0 or with 5.5 Band score in each section, or ELS Language Centers - Level 112, or Pearson's Test of English – 45. Application Deadlines: Fall - July 1 and Spring - November 1.
