The Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed for agricultural careers while pursuing degrees in Animal Science or Agricultural Education. Our department provides degree programs with concentrations in Agricultural Communication, Teacher Preparation, and multiple Animal Science specializations. The Animal Science track features career-focused pathways in Pre-Professional Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine, while the production management option covers Dairy Science, Equine Science, Meat Technology, plus Livestock and Poultry Management. Our comprehensive Animal Science coursework combines essential subjects including: animal assessment, behavioral studies, disease prevention, genetic research, healthcare, reproductive biology, environmental stewardship, market strategies, muscle structure, dietary needs, and physiological systems.
The Agricultural Education degree prepares graduates for positions in agricultural communications or as high school agriculture instructors. Available specializations within this program encompass: agribusiness, animal studies, plant sciences, and agricultural technology.
Admission into the Veterinary Preparation specialization of the bachelor's degree program in Animal Science is a two-step process: (1) admission to the university and (2) admission into the Veterinary Preparation major specialization. And have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2.
English language Score: TOEFL – 61 iBT, or IELTS – 6.0 or with 5.5 Band score in each section, or ELS Language Centers - Level 112, or Pearson's Test of English – 45. Application Deadlines: Fall - July 1 and Spring - November 1.
