The Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education program equips students with the knowledge and skills for agricultural careers while pursuing degrees in Animal Science or Agricultural Education. The Department provides degree options in Agricultural Communication, Teacher Preparation, and multiple Animal Science specializations. Students can focus on Pre-Professional Animal Science or Pre-Veterinary Medicine within the Animal Science track. The production management concentration offers pathways in Dairy Science, Equine Science, Meat Technology, and Livestock/Poultry Management. Our comprehensive Animal Science program covers diverse subjects including animal assessment, behavior, genetics, health, reproduction, environmental stewardship, marketing, muscle biology, nutrition, and physiology.
The Agricultural Education degree prepares graduates for roles in agricultural communications or as high school agriculture instructors. Available concentrations include agricultural business, animal sciences, plant sciences, and mechanized agriculture.
Have graduated from high school (earning a high school diploma), have earned a Certificate of General Education Development (GED) or have passed the California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE)
English language Score: TOEFL – 61 iBT, or IELTS – 6.0 or with 5.5 Band score in each section, or ELS Language Centers - Level 112, or Pearson's Test of English – 45. Application Deadlines: Fall - July 1 and Spring - November 1.
