The Music Department faculty brings together experts from diverse specialties. Numerous professors are acclaimed performers and educators with global recognition, while others have gained prominence through their academic publications and research. All are committed to delivering exceptional musical training through both classroom and private instruction.
Our curriculum offers bachelor's and master's level music education for aspiring professional performers, composers, and private instructors, as well as those pursuing advanced studies in performance and composition. The program meets California's subject matter requirements for music teaching credentials and provides graduate training for academic careers or professional development for K-12 educators and community college instructors. Additionally, we offer music appreciation courses for community members and non-majors.
