The Animation/Intermedia program offers three specialized tracks: 2D Animation, 3D Animation, and Intermedia. Each concentration approaches its medium from a fine arts viewpoint. Students master advanced technical skills while cultivating sharp critical thinking abilities. All tracks emphasize developing a unique artistic voice and personal style, along with understanding the broader impact of their creations. Our curriculum equips students for careers in both artistic and commercial fields.
The 2D animation track explores diverse animation methods. Students gain expertise in both traditional and digital animation techniques, including cutout animation, compositing, and frame-by-frame animation.
The 3D animation track starts with core skills in modeling, lighting, rendering, and animation. Students then specialize in areas like environment design or character animation. The Intermedia track challenges students to combine multiple media forms to create conceptually rich artworks grounded in theory, working with digital photography, video, installations, and animation.
