The Transdisciplinary Arts concentration equips students to address intricate real-world issues requiring diverse knowledge approaches. Structured for adaptability, the program enables innovative learning pathways that transcend conventional academic boundaries. Students fulfill coursework across two or more departments, gaining a wide-ranging skill set to creatively solve future design problems. The curriculum also covers visual arts research and the fusion of theory with practice. Participants learn effective collaboration techniques, preparing them for roles such as Art Directors, Medical Illustrators, Information Designers, Game Developers, Imagineers, Medical Animators, Science and Technical Illustrators, Executive Communications and Marketing Specialists, Creative Technologists, or for further education as Art Educators, Professors, or Art Therapists.
Our Art Department focuses on the Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) Program, a professional degree enabling students to develop specialized expertise through rigorous, focused study in particular art or design fields - preparing them for thriving careers in visual arts and design industries. The B.F.A. is ideal for those pursuing graduate studies or advanced professional skills. Completing the major requires 70 departmental units. Admission to the B.F.A. program simply involves declaring your concentration - no additional application is needed. Available concentrations are detailed in the major requirements section below.
