The Communication Department combines theoretical foundations with practical media production skills, professional development, and impactful research. Graduates will be equipped to contribute significantly across communication theory, Strategic Communication, Media Production, and Communication and Media Studies. Through their studies, students will examine diverse perspectives to become principled, inclusive leaders capable of engaging effectively in both global and local contexts. They'll develop expertise in critical thinking, oral communication, writing, and multimedia presentation skills. The curriculum explores both contemporary media landscapes and the historical interplay between communication, identity, and society, preparing students for diverse career paths or advanced academic pursuits. All undergraduate students complete 32 units across 8 core communication courses and choose one specialization: Multimedia Journalism (focusing on digital storytelling for social justice across multiple platforms), Strategic Communication (integrating Advertising, Public Relations, and Organizational Communication), or Communication and Media Studies (offering adaptable skills for modern careers with strong foundations for graduate studies).
