The Liberal Studies program equips students for careers in elementary education across California. As one of California State University, Chico's most established and popular majors, the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies maintains its historic mission of developing tomorrow's educators and educational leaders.
This pathway enables students to earn a BA in liberal studies while meeting prerequisites for Multiple Subject Credential programs. The program's core curriculum, integrated with General Education courses, satisfies all Elementary Subject Matter Standards for competency. Students have the flexibility to apply up to 30 elective units toward a minor, additional major, or international study opportunities. The liberal studies bachelor's degree is structured as a four-year program.
