The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology program at CSUB provides a comprehensive foundation spanning multiple disciplines, including physical activity leadership, clinical exercise science, personal training, and allied health fields. Kinesiology majors can select from three specialized tracks: Applied Exercise Science, Physical Activity Leadership, or Allied Health.
The Allied Health concentration is designed for students pursuing advanced studies in fields like Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Physician Assistant programs. The coursework incorporates most prerequisite classes needed for admission to these graduate programs.
Additionally, the department provides numerous recreational/fitness activity courses (1500-level) that count toward degree requirements. These courses are graded on a pass/fail basis, with 4 units applicable to the Kinesiology major. Students must complete four distinct activity courses for their degree, with a maximum of one online activity course counting toward this requirement.
