Bachelor of Fine Arts students collaborate directly with professors across our eight specialized disciplines: painting, drawing/illustration, printmaking, graphic design/digital media, ceramics, sculpture, photography, and jewelry/metalsmithing.
The BFA program enables students to deepen their artistic practice and gear up for graduate studies or professional art paths through an intensive, specialized curriculum in visual arts. Those seeking an immersive studio art education will appreciate the enhanced recognition this degree provides.
This selective BFA program operates as a cohort model for juniors and seniors, with most students gaining admission during their sophomore spring semester.
Admission decisions consider applicants' portfolio quality, artistic potential, creative perspective, professional demeanor, and alignment between the BFA program and their academic goals as demonstrated through submitted artworks, academic records, personal essays, and faculty recommendations. Selection also weighs candidates' ability to enrich their cohort's creative and intellectual environment.
