The Department of Psychology provides undergraduate studies culminating in a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree, along with minor programs, General Education course selections, service courses for other disciplines, and three Master of Arts (M.A.) graduate programs.
Earning a B.A. in psychology serves as strong preparation for both graduate studies and diverse career paths. Our alumni have gained admission to elite Ph.D. programs nationwide, while others have pursued master's degrees. This major lays the foundation for careers in psychology or mental health, which generally require an M.A. or Ph.D. Many professionals in medicine, law, business, and executive roles initially completed their bachelor's in psychology. Graduates develop valuable skills including data collection, analysis, report writing, interpersonal abilities, and effective communication. The undergraduate degree also benefits those pursuing roles in healthcare, mental health services, college admissions, HR, management training, market research, client relations, and other fields.
